About Us

My name is Charlie, AKA The Vintage Stylist. I'm a petite little package of vintage, designer and thrift, and my life revolves around vintage and antiques. As a child, my weekends were spent trawling through boot sales and charity shops with my record collector Dad, which turned into a love for all things old, and a passion for hunting for vintage treasure. 

By day, I work with my husband as a Vintage Buyer, supplying vintage props, costumes and vintage items to our private clients, the TV and Film industry and we run our own EBay store. And for the past 8 years, I've also run my little baby business, The Indie Folk.

It started as a little project to keep me busy when my son started nursery, and it evolved into over 2,000 items sold, features in National Press, a feature in a book by Penguin Random House and a realisation that upcycling damaged vintage items into reusable modern home decor wasn't just something that I loved, but there was a customer base for it too.

Our Vintage Tin Candles and Christmas Angels were the start point on this journey, and now I've wanted to expand the items you can purchase through The Indie Folk, by creating a marketplace for other designer/makers, all working with vintage upcycling and vintage inspired products. The items you can find here are items curated by me, from fellow small businesses I love and believe in.
